Driven by bns and brc20, new protocol proposals have been developed in recent weeks to bring new capabilities to the Ordinals ecosystem. This craze is the proof of a strong expectation from the community on new uses.

We believe in the potential of Ordinals but realize that our success will come from the ability of indexers and third party services to agree on precise mechanics to be applied when a protocol feature entry is revealed on the timechain.

We introduce the protocols op and oe, respectively Ordinal Protocol and Ordinal Entity.

• op is a protocol to define the schema and mechanics of an ordinal protocol. It can be defined as a meta-protocol.
• oe is a protocol lives on the op metaprotocol. This protocol defines the mechanics of the Ordinal Entity protocol allowing the functioning of a DAO on ordinals.
